Toe & Heeling
Why do doors drop?
The majority of doors and side opening windows drop due to poor fitting of the DGU’s in to the frames. This is more often noticeable on doors. PVC doors are heavy due to the steel reinforcement inside the section; the DGU’s are also heavy. The door sash has to be packed on the DGU’s with the correct glazing packers and in the correct way.
THE SOLUTION
Adjusting hinges will not fix a dropped door and be the cause of other subsequent issues. The door or window must be toe and heeled to the correct height and the lock must be inline and even to prevent these issues. Please do ask your RPS fitter for more information at the time of installation.
